General information
The general objective of TRN is to build an open co-operation network for European Regions for matching regional development needs using integrated and practical Telematics applications and services to support both the development of the involved regions as well as the development of the Information Society throughout Europe.
A specific objective of TRN is to support the identification by regions of their problems and interests, matching them on an inter-regional basis with similar problems and interests of other Members. Identification of common interests can then be focused into project proposals which match these regional identified needs and interests. The overall coordination of activities takes place through TRN, projects will be coordinated by one of the project partners.
New projects
TRN has presented a proposal to the INTERREG IVC 1st call and we are now waiting for the evaluation results.
In the framework of the InnoSME project, TRN is preparing two proposals to be submitted to the Research for SMEs Associations programme, with the objective to solve common problems of the SMEs in the ICT sector. If you are a SMEs Association in this sector, and you can be interested in join the proposal, please contact with Mr. Francisco Loras.

Procedures
New projects will be set up as follows:
Through the identification of priorities TRN brings regions together which share the same interest. Regions willing to join projects can express their interest (see 'New projects'). A project working group of 3 to 6 regions will be formed.
These regions organize the project with help of TRN and potential industrial partners etc. Coordination should lead to successful proposals and where possible to additional European funding.
The liability for projects lies entirely with the participating regions (and other partners) so that other TRN members will not be juridically involved.
